shannon jonesShannon Jones • Yoga Instructor
A ten year native of Aspen, Shannon has maintained a balanced life through yoga, dance, rock climbing, music and art. Her artistic diversity flows into her yoga teachings, creating an open approach to movement and alignment. Shannon received her Ashtanga based yoga certification at the Mount Madonna Center in 2002 and has over 17 years of dance education. She has also studied other types of yoga, such as Iyengar, Anusara, Bikram and Ana Forrest yoga. Extremely focused on alignment, Shannon's classes offer a "yoga for your body type" approach, including modifications, chakra balancing and breathing exercises into the asanas.

Shannon received her BA in Marketing from Georgia Southern University and continues education through life experiences, classes, travel and meditation. She feels that yoga has been the foundation for her emotional and spiritual transformations. Shannon has developed her yoga practice over the past eight years and attributes qualities of open-heartedness, humor and integrity to her discipline.
dana juliusDana Julius • Yoga Instructor
Dana Julius’s primary focus as a teacher is to unconditionally support her students.  Dana is passionate about teaching, and her classes  are both light-hearted and challenging.  Dana had a strong background in dance when she took her first yoga class in 1996.  Making the shift from a performance based art to an intention based practice has been powerful for Dana.  It was this growth, along with Dana's gratitude for her own practice that made her to want to  share yoga with others.  In 2002 Dana began teaching after completing Bikram Yoga teacher training.  Since then Dana has also become certified to teach Power and Sivananda Yoga.    Dana loves to be of service and support others on their path.

karen millerKaren Miller • Yoga Instructor
After taking her first Jivamukti class in 1997, Karen quickly became enamored with the practice of yoga.  She developed a strong curiosity of this “yoga buzz” and began studying other styles, mainly Ashtanga and Iyengar.  With encouragement from her primary teachers, Karen became Yoga Shanti Certified in May 2004.

Her playful classes combine focused asana sequencing, chanting and philosophy while emphasizing alignment and breath.  Her hands-on adjustments will bring more clarity to your practice allowing you to drop deeper into meditation.

She offers pranamas to her generous teachers, Colleen, Jessica, Rodney Yee and the many other extraordinary mentors she’s met along the way.  Karen forever treasures Manorama’s sublime insight of the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras, sharing what she’s learned thus far.  She’s inspired by her students and invites you to come explore!

kate olsonKate Olson • Pilates Instructor and Registered Yoga Teacher
As a Colorado native, Kate has always been passionate about the outdoors. She grew up in Boulder, CO mountain biking, rock climbing, and ski racing. Unable to leave beautiful Colorado she attended the University of Denver where she received a BA in International Studies. In the winter of 2004 Kate spent six months in Chamonix, France. It was here that she discovered her true passion for skiing. She competed in various extreme skiing competitions through out France and Switzerland, ending up ranking 5th in Europe for women’s extreme skiing. Towards the end of her time in France, Kate had a devastating ski accident resulting in shoulder surgery and months of rehab. However, the accident was a blessing in disguise for it lead her to discover Pilates. Pilates was the basis for her rehab. What she discovered was that it not only healed her shoulder, but it transformed her entire body. This translated directly into her skiing, mountain biking, and life in general. Because of the incredible results, Kate decided that Pilates was something she wanted to be involved with for life. She became a certified instructor through the Physical Mind Institute. Kate loves working with all ages, shapes, and sizes and hopes that she can help people improve everything from their athletic abilities to how they feel in their daily lives through Pilates.

Taking what she learned from Pilates and incorporating it into yoga opened an entirely new world of possibility. She not only fell in love with the beautiful movements and philosophy of yoga, but also how perfectly Pilates and Yoga seemed to work together. She likes to refer to them as "her two great lovers." In the spring of 2007 Kate departed for a three month adventure through SE Asia and Indonesia. She studied Traditional Thai Massage in Northern Thailand, and then attended a yoga teacher training in Bali. She is a Yoga Alliance 200hr Certified Teacher through Vibrant Living. Her inspirations and influences in yoga come from Allaine Stricklen with the Iyengar Method, David Williams with Ashtanga Vinyasa, Daniel King from his own beautiful mix of everything, and many others. jo raffertyJo Rafferty • Yoga Instructor
Jo was raised in Aspen and continues to live here with her husband Jack and son Patrick. As a personal trainer for twelve years, Jo discovered the benefits of yoga while treating a chronic back injury from a skiing accident. She needed an alternative to her trail running and weight lifting and yoga was the perfect complement.
Her love of the outdoors and athletics reflects in every class you take. Strong vinyasas, creative sequencing and energetic music are a few of the things you will experience. Jo integrates high paced movement and strength training into her power and vinyasa classes.
Jo’s teacher training was with Baptiste power yoga, but she draws from many different styles, and adds a sense of fun and exploration to her practice. She will continue her teacher training in the fall with Steve Rogers in Aspen.
